I am not surprised judging by the entertainment in the two farcical RU Internationals on the BBC today.
It is an excuse for folk to get drunk as skunks at a match without fear of being beaten up which is probably why they do not go to Footie games.
The play is dire the players are out of shape' there is no skill' no intelligent play' just a lot of hurrah types who run around like headless chickens.
Are we really expected to believe that these are the best our 4 home countries have to offer ?
This is not a spectator sport it is rather like asking a lot of intoxicated people to go and watch a fishing match or watch me sup 6 pints in 80 minutes.The folk attending would not know the difference but it should not be on the BBC.

Watch the ' super 14 ' matches if you get the chance frank , it's like they are playing a different sport to the drivel served up over here |

They are, they are losing out to RL hand over fist bar SA.
RU is now number 5 in sport on tv in Aus.

Well if your talking about boring sport SL isn't keepng me exactly riveted to the screen. The Fax/Batley game was more entertaning. Mllwards interview on here was not very informative but thought provoking. I hope he is keeping those thngs (he wouldn't reveal) that are making the NRL more attackng and entertaining for us to adopt and not for the inevitable SL club he will go to.

There was a reason for that, he was on a radio show last Friday where he spoke about his ideas plus they were in an article he writes for the trade press every week. |
