I go to lots of amateur games and have visited Easts many times both on RL days and for various functions like birthday parties engagement parties etc.



At the reserve game yesterday one of the beautiful young girls behind the bar asked me to become a member as it would save me 20p a drink.



Do they realise I am on a fixed income and rarely drink ? Well whatever' I shall go in after the game on Sunday and join. Thank god for Wonga dot.com.



I will borrow a tenner so I can join and pay them when I get my pension on March 17 then pay Wonga the £25 I owe them.

But hey Won't stop me doing what I do and helping my club.

Think this is a great idea, Legends' bar before the game then Leigh East afterwards, really working on creating a whole match day experience, well done.

The family environment/entertainment with the outside space available in Summer will be brilliant for hooking our future fans to our great club.

On another note Leigh Cricket Club in Pennington is a members only club, BUT they will happily serve anybody who wants to knock the froth off a cold one in there and is a really friendly family orientated place.



The membership means that you get 30p discount off a pint and the function room cheaper.

I don't know any place which turns away paying punters members or non members these days to be honest.

Linda is quite correct to raise questions about membership of Leigh East.

Leigh East is a registered club, it does not have a licence to sell alcohol and the premises are not licenced premises, It is a members club and supplies alcohol under a Registration Certificate to its members who in turn can supply it to the members bona fide guests and no one else.

If licensing offences are being commited and in these circumstances this may well be the case then this will not effect Leigh Centurions but could effect Leigh East when their registration certificate is renewed.
