Seems a few Widnes fans are pooping themselves reading the VT. Its only fans of teams likely to figure in the reduction to 12 and ultimately the bottom end of SL that seem averse to the idea of competitive games for more than half a season

Best thing that could happen to the clubs at the top end of champs.



If we are all honest none are SL clubs so this gives an option of top flight, or at least a number of very competitive games.



Either way positioning will be based on results not opinions so that is a big step back in the right direction

One up one down didn't work last time, think we need to try something else and this new structure could be it. The middle 8 stops it from being too big a jump, it means you have to show you'll be competitive before going up (which I'm sure the top Championship sides will be). You're going to have very competitive interesting games all season round as everybody always has something to play for. As for it being too complicated well it's much easier than the current playoff system.

Its going to be a right good shake up, which can be only good for the game.



I cant quote on SL clubs, but attendances for Champioship clubs must increase with this news !!

Its going to be really interesting to see how attendances are affected by this news in the current season and also in 2015 are beyond...you would hope that the Leigh public are clued in to these developments and get back on the bandwagon...perhaps some more education is required?



And am I right in thinking that the reason we need to finish in the top 2 this season is for greater funding in 2015? Unless we finish outside the top 10 (9 if Toulouse come in) we are guaranteed to be in the second set of 12..

To be honest mate I am actually confused and I feel more debt for clubs now going for it.I don't like the goalposts changing all the time.If keep to a structure like they do in football and rugby union I could understand.

Not wishing to be condescending but it is actually quite simple. You need to finish in the top 8 of SL or you are at risk of losing your place the following season. More game intensity.



As for the money issue if your club gets in trouble its not the rfls fault. Clubs should be run as a business. If a club isn't run in this way does it really deserve a place at the top table.

haven't thought it thru properly,but first thing that came to mind was that four full time super league teams play four part time championship clubs for promotion to super league

But it is four struggling SL teams against four Championship teams in good form which should level it to some extent.

Top Champ clubs will have greater funding to allow more full time players. Or at least that is the plan. No funding details out I don't think. However its bound to be substantially more than the 70k champ clubs get now.

I love the idea...more interesting fixtures and the challenge of tougher opposition.

As as lenaghan and his cronies don't try and take all the 2.4 million freed up by two clubs being relegated this year then we should be quids in
