Looks more like a threat to me.
Unfortuately, we have pretty much played all the top teams at home, 3K looks a very big ask to me.
Hope I'm wrong

| Think the club should do a meeting night with the fans (like the squad numbers/shirt launch)....... get people to ask questions via writing them and handing them in and Alan Rowley/ Directors to answer them and all find ways to raise more funds.
They need to be writing to firms in Leigh that could poss back the club - Pataks, Morrisons (former Lenders/simply fresh) etc...... Get advertisement boards up etc if they come on back us and advertise their firms on fixture posters put up in town.
Both the club and the firms would benefit from it..........worth a shot.

| Quote FredParky="FredParky"IMO a clear the air meeting between the board of directors and the fans must be arranged and people must go into, the meeting in a positive fashion with the ONLY agenda being =#FF0000'HOW CAN WE ALL TOGETHER DRIVE THE CLUB FORWARD' and that anybody being negative is asked to leave because it's time to put all the petty arguments, so called feuds and slights behind us and everybody from the youngest supporter to the eldest, the poorest to the richest to all pull the ship in the same direction.'"
Just imagine the power that say 500 of the loyal fans, organised and all pulling TOGETHER in the same direction, could generate, in conjunction with the local businesses.

| The statement is of course preaching to the converted again re: attendances. It's like pulling teeth getting any of my mates to go and back in the first Millward era there was 10-15 of us every week. Just me and my brother now, sign of the times.
If those like minded people with the cash to help can do so then good on you I say.

| Sounds quite similar to the statement we made when Stephen Vaughan stepped down at the beginning of 2007. All of the remaining directors agreed to put in substantial amounts which kept us going to the end of the season. The major difference between Widnes back then and Leigh now though is that we were already heavily in debt and the problem was made worse when it was revealed the Vaughan had used the clubs accounts in a massive tax fraud case which was revealed meaning a big tax bill was then owed by the club - even though Vaughan had stepped down by then.
Obviously Leigh have been run in the right way and AT wouldn't leave Leigh in the same state as what Vaughan left Widnes, so I don't think you'll end up going the same Widnes did at the end of 2007. In 2007 though, Widnes had decent crowds, won the NRC and also got to the GF - so I'm not sure how much the little things count in the face of funding shortfalls. The only thing that was going to save Widnes back then was someone coming in and having the money to pay off the debts. Now if you're a potential investor though, do you come in and spend a fortune clearing the debts, or do you wait let the club go into adminstration and use your money directly on the club instead? Hopefully Leigh are not in much debt however and you can attract someone by the end of the year. It must be a massive worry, however of what happens if no-one comes in as it doesn't sound like the remaining directors can fund the club long term.

Most of them now have their own homes and families. Also when we were going back then one of our mates was actually playing for Leigh so most of us went for that reason.

So just ' life ' in general getting in the way , that happens/happened to us all , the thing is , do they give that as the reason , or do they make the usual excuses you hear in the pub

A team playing there next season, and in three years time a SL team.
This 'we' need to work together has to include LSV.

| The statement mentioned ,they have spoke to the Council and the stadium company.
They do need to come up with some good marketing ideas to get the fans in, if it was up to me the East should be opened as a family stand, where you can get a family ticket for 4 for £20 that to include a discount off the next game also. No beer served in that stand just pop, crisps and cheap hot dogs for the kids and maybe the meal deals they have in the Legends bar for the adults.

There wont be any box ticking this year. It will start from next season, when the club/clubs have come down from SL, so they have the same time frame to achieve what ever the RFL decide.
