When Dave Mills went over for his first try Dennis and his counterpart in the dugout were having a right go on the walkies.

When he went in for his second the widnes FANS were doing the walkies

He's loving it too Millsy. Him and Chris Hill put in long stints on the field tonight. Did you see Hilly when he came onto the field in the second half he was bouncing. They were far bigger than us and we owned them. Don't care if I get a warning for going tonight. It was worth it.

I know i might get some stick off widnes fans for this but... I have still never seen Thackeray put in anything like a good performance against leigh. I've seen him have a good match on TV once or twice against other sides but he is consistently awful against us. Ridyard plays him off the pitch every single time and Ellis did too tonight. His defence is terrible, his dummy-and-step is predictable and his kicking game is average at best. They are on about taking him to SL with them! Is it just Leigh who he can't play against? Because I don't get the hype at all and I haven't for years.

Ive always called him a 'one trick pony' and your right he has never had a good game against us, but thats because we know how to handle him and their coaches can't.

i read the thread earlier about people thinking maybe this could be widnes turn to beat us, and i could lie and say i was 1oo% comfident, but i had a niggling doubt that just maybe we would blow it on the night, well what a fool i am, and i should know better, especially with this group of outstanding players we have in this current squad. Lads you were immense this evening, 2nd half especially, i should never of had such doubts, in 33 years of watching my beloved team i can't remember a more committed, and skillful bunch of players, especially when you consider we have spent less than last year, i take my hat off to you, a very proud leyther.



ps to many great performances to mention everyb player, but just one bit of praise for david mills, awesome.

Thackeray is a decent support player but that's not any good when getting thumped at half back, never mind the forwards.

Mills was pure class tonight, what an effort from the big man. Has anybody asked him if he will let Danny Sculthorpe out of his pocket anytime soon?
