The only compliment that I would pay Saints is to sort of say 'Fair play, they're having a dig'. Nothing to play for, mid table, going through the motions but they keep on battling.

We had no choice tbf. He wanted more money and first team action than Saints could offer him. Or so he said. We've only missed him, and Bryn Hargreaves and Paul Johnson, because we have had so many injuries. We're now a prop down for the rest of the season but either we will battle on, now that Clough is back (assuming he remains fit) or promote from within. Next season is anyone's guess!

he looks pretty quick for a front rower and looks to have a decent pair of hands as well. I suspect from this that Ben Evans may get a year or two on dual registration at Leigh with the odd first team appearance thrown in over the next couple of years.

I reckon the poor Aussie dollar exchange rate, the NRL salary cap increase and the 3 year licence system all combined could be great for the development of young British players. All of those factors combined with a clubs philosophy of developing young players of course.

Over the past 12 months I have been impressed by the number of players plucked from the championship to be given an opportunity at Sl, 6 or 7 years ago these players in their early twenties would have been overlooked for imports and facing a career in the championship, With good coaching and attitude I hope the ones that have made the move (and hopefully more) can earn a few bob and make a good living out of the game.

I've heard good things about hill and the Leigh fans seem to highly rate him but from the few times I've seen him on sky I've not been impressed at all to be honest. Maybe smith sees potential in him and can tap in to that.



I know saints was linked with him and this isn't sour grapes as you can check my posts about him in the past.



It's a worry that we lost out to another player when it's pretty clear we ain't spending to the cap. Typical saints of recent years trying to do it on the cheap.

Chris Hill has been a pillar of strength in Leigh sides that have underperformed and he has dragged them along. You are getting a young prop that has looked after himself so well he has been virtually injury free. He has played week in week out and put in a good shift nearly every time. It's time for Chris now to make his mark on SL and he will get the full support of us Leythers. Expect some red and white at your place next year.

Good signing for you, not only is he at a decent playing level now but has great potential and should really kick on at a full time club with good facilities. Plus he's young which is always a massive bonus, not that you'd know about that.







You beat Saints, Huddersfield and Salford to this signing with most competition between you and Huddersfield. Should go really well in Super League, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed when it was officially announced.
