The real idiots are those oh-so-trendy rebels who steal the product online, thus depriving the teams they supposedly support of the cash that Sky give them to basically keep them in existence.... cock

| Quote Mystic Yed="Mystic Yed"Sorry but I'm going against the tide here, in the context of the moment I don't think he said it because he hates Wire or that any 'true feelings' were coming out, I just think he felt for them in that moment. People's partisan opinions seem to warp their reality.
It was a nothing moment for me'"
The problem is, Hemmings is NOT a commentator, he is a studio presenter - I just found the 'Oh no!!' moment laughable and embarrassing, simply because it made the sport sound amateur in what was one of the biggest games of the year.... Any neutrals must have wondered what the hell was going on for the commentator to get so partisan.
For all his many detractors and obvious faults, you would never have got Ray French resorting to such OTT rhetoric - Sometimes these guys have to realise they are there to commentate on the action and not try to force their nonsense opinions all over the game - Stevo's constant criticisms of the officials are quite ironic, as we, as a sport, always try to make out that the relationship between Players and officials is so respectful, yet that buffoon shows little for any of them.

I watch a lot more games live than I do on TV, and I give a lot more money to rugby league clubs (in the form of gate money) than the vast majority of Sky Sports subscribers do.
I did however enjoy watching both rugby and football more before Sky took them both over, and I have no wish to pay extortionate subscription fees for a service I have little time for.

Yes, but even you surely aren't so dumb as to realise that those extortionate fees are keeping Liverpool FC, Warrington RLFC and all their many opponents in business.
By seemingly encouraging people to cut off their subscriptions by labelling them 'idiots', you merely show a naïve stupidity - Rugby League especially, would be dead in the water without Sky TV.

| Number of years the Warrington rugby club existed before Sky bought rugby league? 119.
Number of years the sport of rugby league existed before Sky bought it? 100.
Number of times rugby league was declared "dead" in that 100 year period? Countless from what I understand.
Of course the game would exist without Sky.
Anyway, back on topic. Every team's fans think the media is against them. Even at low levels my mate from Grimsby advises me that GTFC fans are always accusing their local paper of being anti-them and pro-Shorpe! Of course Shorpe fans say the opposite. At "big club" level this magifies tenfold. It's still not true. Live with it people.

We could probably argue/discuss this all night, but the fact is, if Sky withdrew their backing, then RL in its present form would be dead..... There would be an amateur version, but the standard would be woefully poor, compared to now and it would be played in ramshackle grounds, because clubs like Wire, Widnes and Saints would never be able to keep up the maintainence of their stadiums.

| Sorry to just paste it from wiki but here goes-
In 2008, a bus was named after Hemmings in his current home town of Warrington as part of a project that recognised the contribution of local people.
Influence[edit source
On 13 February 2009, commentating on a St Helens and Warrington Wolves match, Hemmings called for the names and numbers on the back of the Warrington away shirt to be changed as he found it hard to read. Warrington Wolves recognised this and two weeks later, in a match between Wakefield Wildcats and Warrington Wolves, Warrington altered their away shirt through having a white background behind the numbers.
