| Giving him a knighthood for winning Wimbledon is one thing, David Cameron stating he 'couldn't think of anyone who deserves one more' is a little far fetch considering some of the unsung work people in our country do, saving and changing lives!

| Sports people getting knighthoods full stop is daft, create some royal sports award but a knighthood, seriously?

A great achievement, but, perhaps it has more to do with associating yourself with a popular winner reflecting in their glory? The fact that Murray is a Scot in a run up to the devolution referendum might just be another factor whilst dsean connery is lookinh for his wig and Alex Salmond is dealing with the 'fallout' from Trump, if you pardon the expression.

| From a neutral point of view it might be because of what he became after all he's been through, having friends murdered at school and the obvious emotional weight that carries (i saw the Murray documentary last night) to become the 2nd best tennis player and winner of 2 of the 4 top tournaments in the world, takes a lot of mental strength.

| Back on the topic of the media, it was nice to see the Minister For Sport on SS News at lunchtime talking about British sporting achievements in the past 12 months. And then go on to highlight the remaining sports calendar in 2013 including the Rugby League World Cup in the Autumn.

Much preferable to the fifty-two weeks a year Wendyball fans!

That is surprising. Must have been on his pre-prepared blurb.

| I’m glad the lions got shaded by the tennis at the weekend, it makes a nice change. If ever a game was over rated its RU. Too many rules, too many players, too many stoppages and too much publicity. Not enough tries and running play. Get a half decent team, bang in a Sinfield or a Foster and you’re away. Play a full 80 and lose on an unexplainable scrum penalty that could have been given either way. As a spectacle tennis is no less boring, both games are Mogadon on steroids, but at least the results went the right way.
