Are you saying you wouldn't take a 25 year old benny Westwood again right now because the game has moved on? There is still loads of room in rugby league for a tough uncompromising player, so long as they realise their first contribution should be effective disciplined rugby.
We can't write off mcguire as an ill disciplined waste yet can we, he could be a brilliant signing.

Indeed. A lot have moved on and stopped watching. Our average crowd is down 20% on pre covid levels. |

From what I’ve seen of McGuire (which isn’t a massive amount, admittedly) he isn’t just ALL grubbery, he’s also got a handy side to his game as well. If he’s an on-field leader in terms of getting stuck in and uncompromising in defence, then I’ll take it. I don’t want to start a bring-back-the-biff thread, but remember when a team could get into the oppositions faces and put them off their game? We could really do with some of that now.
