Getting the wife to drop me off at a pub in Wembley



Non of this is a superstition or ritual, cos that would just be mumbo jumbo nonsense, some of you will be telling me you pray to a magic man in the sky next.

We go down each year on Thursday before the Saturday, you don’t want to miss the kick off. Get to the Torch pub near Wembley tube station at 10:30 on game day and drink copious amounts of expensive lager from plastic glasses. Walk down Wembley Way and get to our seats for Abide with me – Can’t see me changing the ritual this year.



Incidentally I asked Adrian (Moz) if he had any rituals on final day, he said get to Wembley, play the game, then lift the cup. Hope he doesn’t break the tradition.

Take it you are going with your dad and the lads from DLS? Had a bit of drink with you after the Leeds game last time and hope for more of same...quality.

It was a small place on the way to the Torch, a bit like the Drop Inn in Monton if you know it? I was at the bar and asked one of your lads was he from DLS in Salford? (he had it on his shirt), we got chatting and knew quite a few of the same lads from Salford, Eccles, Monton and De la Salle Rugby Club.



Your dad said we should thank him for making your Adrian the player he is by giving him a couple of well deserved back handers growing up. We sank a few beers and had a bit of a giggle.
