| Quote JWP="JWP"The thing is, Saints have evolved. 'The Entertainers' now play a pretty low percentage game getting into your end of the field, then have some smart plays in your 20, wrap arounds, cut out to Graham right under the posts etc and it's very effective in conditions like that. We didn't seem to have similar tactics, when we did try it for a set and just go tight to the ruck with say Morley, Carvell & Co taking a drive each we made plenty of metres also but didn't seem to have the patience to stick to this and also the scoreboard to a degree dictated that we did a little more but given the conditions, you were never likely to overturn a deficit in those conditions.
I thought Smith nailed it, no need for any investigation on here, we got outplayed for sure, we'll cop it, learn and hopefully react next week. We've had good bouncebackability this year, i'm sure we will again. Again, reverting to Che mode, "We've been pretty good in knock out rugby ...".
We have got a few problems really, being honest, the Myler situation meaning we're looking a little to reliant on Briers and negating everything that is good about Monas when he's at 7 for one, but we'll all leave that in Smith's capable hands.
It's not a time for us to be down in the dumps, we've had a great year and it might not be finished just yet. We'll cop a bit on here from speccies as it was a poor showing, but who cares ? We've won a competition 2 years in succession, we're still in with a shout with this one. If the wheels do well & truly come off and we're out in a week, it's another year of progression, a year we've all thoroughly enjoyed, and we've got a team that we can be proud of. If this is a bridge too far for us this year, so be it.
This wolf does not bite Che, ever.'"
Fair assessment.

I'm not understanding this so called "Wire Walk". Yes, about 8 minutes from the end there were a few people leaving, not thousands and thousands like the Wigan, Leeds and Saints fans say there was. At the end of the game, our end was still pretty packed.
But hey, you guys obviously like to pick up anything against our club that gives you a chubby. Obsessed is the word that springs to mind.

| That's one thing Potter has left as a legacy. A tight, disciplined possession and territory orientated game plan. Not something you associate with Saints.

We have been like that since 06, dont let the SKY myth tell you otherwise. All the Saints fans that I know and went to the games with in 06 enjoyed how ruthlessely efficient we were but we were not entertaining like several years previous. We came away from games after putting 40 on the opposition and you'd struggly to remember to many awesome or flair like plays (Lyon aside)

| Quite simply the weather suited a very powerful saints side and didn't favour the passing game that the wire have played all season, i would still fancy us on a dry night!

The problem we have during the play-offs is the time of year when the grand final play-offs are played which is notorious for poor weather, a few of the grand finals themselves have been played in rain.
We need a plan B for this time of year, our plan A thats seen is play some very entertaining RL isn't suited to this time of year. The winner of the grand finals isn't the team that plays the most attractive rugby throughout the year, its the team that copes best with all the different conditions that will be thrown at them during the play-offs.
