| Quote Stew2="Stew2"No gimmicks, just drop the ticket price to £10 and you'll get plenty of people back. '"
Or will we just half our gate income in an instant? Whilst I agree that RL in general is heading the way of football in terms of pricing people out, there's plenty of examples in the past of free tickets being on offer at Salford and people not taking them - we need to create a desire for people to want to come rather than just slash the price.

Magic I can just see it now, bearded men in high heels with squeaky voices queueing all the way down Weaste Lane!
Or turning this on it's head, there have been some games this season where I've thought we were watching a ladies game, especially in defence!

| A lot of the ideas are really good in isolation, but don't seem to be part of any sustained overall plan. That said, no amount of marketing is going to attract significant numbers to watch us get beat at The Willows.

| The one tool not tried at Salford is success, that is the only tool required to bring in the crowds, maybe maybe not in our case.

Data is king in these days. I fancy there's a big stonking database of interested/semi-interested potential customers to pursue.

You are spot on with that....you can have all the marketing you want and shiney new stadiums, but unless you have the right product on the field performing and competing you'll never get full houses week in week out.
People want to see a winning team thats why they pay their gate money(or not in some cases).

| Quote EX.SALF.UNI="EX.SALF.UNI"They've tried/trying [size=100E V E R Y T H I N G[/size but the reality (that most have come to terms with) is that marketing a losing team at a ground like ours is flogging a dead horse.
On this subject though - I've been mightily impressed with the quality of video ads at the TC, and doing the social media rounds. The rock radio plugs seemed to attract a bit of praise too, though I haven't heard them myself. The new venture to bring the matches into local boozers is pretty innovative, no idea what return it'll provide but it's exposure.'"
Think the level of Marketing has improved , certainly better than the previous few seasons.
But agree marketing a winning team in any sport is alot easier, getting the product right on the pitch is vital, so being battered by 40-50 points at home is no recipe to build on home support no matter how contrived the campaign or how cost effective the tickets are.
can't believe we don't have a " next game at the willows Sign " outside the ground or the poster/ placards we used in 2007/2008. I was walking to the ground Good Friday an hour before K/o and some guys pull up to ask ' Is there a game on Today?

| I think Salford's marketing is improving and hopefully it will continue to do so when we move to the new stadium.
However, I feel that rugby league as a whole is not marketed as well as it should be. The sport is a fantastic product to market yet its marketing doesn't match up to the likes of union and football. You can't avoid football, its everywhere. If you want to find out about rugby league you have to know where to look. The RFL need to market this fantastic game. The more people see it the more they will want to come again. I think most of us agree that it is the greatest game of all, we just need more people to see it!

Leigh seems to be doing exactly what I suggested above ...

Can't see any reason why we can't do this on a shoe-string?
Would sit really nicely with the good schools work we already do and would begin to develop a group of kids ready for the big move.

| I'm lead to understand there's some sort of big doo on down in London village today, i think the club are showing a lack of ambition by not getting a couple of free tickets tucked under the place mats for the buffet and finger food
