Smith is far better than sneyd tactically he is setting the world on fire @ cas but its a long season and I recon smith will continue to be very good.

Ryan Brierley is a must signing for me. Best player outside of Super League, young, English and a massive Salford fan to boot.

Brian Noble was over at Cas today , doubt he was sunbathing.

Maybe Cas would consider taking Howarth on loan and we take Sneyd back.



Can see the logic in getting Brierley signed up before another SL team has a look, then either leaving him at Leigh or maybe sending him to Sheffield like a couple of the other lads, working with Aston would only benefit his game, Then look at the merit of taking him into the full squad next season.

Why up root him to Sheffield? If we signed him, I'd leave him at leave for the remainder of this season and even next year too.

I agree. Smith has been poor in the last two games and Sneyd has been excellent so far but that's just the way things go. I'm glad we've still got Sneyd under contract as he's great prospect but I don't think for a second that the result of either of the games we've lost so far would have been any different if we've retained Sneyd.

Has anyone seen Sneyd play this season? Apart from the obvious good kicking skills, what else has he done thus far?

According to Today's MEN, Brierley has signed for Leigh and so, as he would therefore cost for a transfer, is being ruled out.

The cynic in me thinks that we weren't actually interested in Brierley and our supposed interest in him was leaked to Barker so that the speculation would push through his new deal.

Is that the deal he signed last July ?

The lad Brierley isn’t a bad little player but he isn’t blessed with speed and he could find the step up to SL a tough challenge imo. It’s OK for this former scout Robinson raving about him but I think you have to ask the question why no other top clubs haven’t taken a gamble on him?
