| I understand that, but surely (as Walshovski rightly pointed out) if we are not able to state that something as basic as this is to be done to our spec, exactly what do we have a say in??? Things as fundamental as the required stadium size, design, branding, naming, colour schemes, etc must have been discussed at some point before we got into bed with the new stadium developers? If not, I really do fear for the club as we once knew it...
Also, if we as a collective (be we the paying fans or the club as a whole) have no say in such matters, why the hell have we ever wasted time pondering which stands should be named after which past greats?

They will only be named in that way because they cannot get sponsors to pay for the naming rights for them
Don't be surprised if you don't actually have a sign outside the stadium stating that you play there , forget the ' CGI s ' , that's how these things work

| We might as well be playing games at somebody elses stadium it certainly feels that way (I know its not technically ours) Quick, all back to The Willows! Seriously we could end up doing serious damage.
It really is cloak and dagger when we should be looking forward to a bright new era our new coach doesnt want to be here (which I dont blame him for at all) our assistant is swanning off to Preston Grasshoppers we've made no real decent signings apart from maybe Moon and the stadium is turning out to be a joke...will things ever turn around, I severly doubt it.

| I can't say I'm happy about the blue seats, but I wouldn't say we're completely doomed because of them. Still a bit of time for new signings to be announced too, maybe there hasn't been one announced because they're taking part in the Four Nations? Preston Grasshoppers aren't going to be a major commitment for Sean Long I doubt. Can see why some people are being pessimistic, but I think there's still plenty of reason to be optimistic.

| Well its still not very proffesional for your assistant coach to be playing elsewhere but thats just in my humble opinion, no seat colours are not the end of the world but seem as though were the prime tenants and we play in red its pretty shite but the general feeling atm isn't too good really Matt Parish has been a god send I just hope he stays and in some way changes the fortunes of the club around he'll struggle with the idiots who run the show (apart from Wilky)

To be honest Matt parish is a god send imo, if anyone can turn this boat round he can. I just hope the club back him and give him what he needs, they let mcrae stagnate here for it felt like an eternity this is the one and only chance to get this right.
As for blue seats I feel there might be more colours to come, maybe white?

Would this be a bad time to mention the rumour amongst journalists on twitter that one of the stands may be named after Salford born William Webb Ellis?

What's wrong with that? He is credited with inventing rugby rather either code and is a famous son of Salford.

| To be honest, the only thing that I would find off-putting about a seat of any colour would be if the person sat next to me was the sort of moaning b'stard who finds negativity in everything

| Hilarity prevails on this site it really does!! This whole article is re god damm diculous!!Why the hell are you all being so negative, would you rather stay in our old stadium that falling apart and costing the club god knows how much to maintain or move to a new one. Yet we somehow find a way to whinge about what colour the bloody seats are, you sound like women complaining about the colour of curtains!! get a grip!!
I personally can't wait for the new season, I wanna see the new signings and wanna see our new stadium and figure out my seat. So enough of the negative waves baby!!

He is nowadays completely associated with RU.
It's all going pear shaped folks, to the point of being laughable.
Why am I not surprised

With the greatest respect... (and I mean that as your post suggests you are clearly a loyal supporter) You clearly don't see the point why this is such a big issue.
As somebody rightly pointed out earlier... This is as much about how little say we have in this stadium. When ideas were first cast about moving to a new ground... this was going to be 'our' ground. Now... we don't seem to have any say at all in it. This could cause some serious problems in the future for us... and eventually push us down the pecking order in our new ground.
This stadium is our only option as a club... it has to work... in order for this to work for us... we have to have an amount of control in what goes on in this ground. Does this suggest we have that control ? Do you think if we did we would have a completely red stadium... I think we would... the fact that we don't suggests somebody is either not speaking up... or somebody isn't prepared to listen.
The council are pretty much refusing to recognise this as Salford City Reds new stadium... and continue to bang on about it belonging to them. We have to face it... we are just tenants here... with little or no say in the matter.

| On the naming of stands topic we could have the following.
The Jesus stand referring to Christopher Eccleston in second coming or Robert Powell for Jesus of Nazareth (and he could double as the steward if there is 39 steps).
The Emmeline Pankhurst ladies lavs.
John Cooper Clarke as the official club scribe.
Ryan Giggs to stay at home and look after supporters wives when attending games.
Hazel Blears could run a scrambled egg consession.
Harold Riley could knock up some flyers with pretty pictures.
The Edd the Duck and Andy Crane childrens creche.
And maybe a super group of Russell Watson, Graham Nash, Elkie Brookes, Mark E Smith and that good looking bird from the Ting Tings to serenade us as we queue in the massively improved crowds to get in.
