I watched Andy Coley closely last night and in my opinion he should have not have reacted in the manor he did despite a lot of provication/banter from a small minority of Reds fans.



A true pro would have just laughed it off but he chose to insight the Salford fans and in my book he should this morning be embarrassed by his actions.











Footnote: Andy Coley is no better now than he was when he was at the Willows he is just surrounded by better players in my eyes he did not do anything special last night, he still gives away plenty of penalties and he's still too slow at the tackle.



Here's hoping next Friday on the return trip Andy Coley just gets on with what Wigan pay him for and does not let himself down again in the manor he did last night.

I was pretty ashamed the at the chant thought it was very sad and people need to grow up. Yes he left us in the but to sing that is pretty dire especially with the kids in the crowd. I thought his reaction of nodding his head in tune was quite amusing and even better we didn't bother giving him the abuse until we realised we were not good enough and let the game get away from us.



We need to look at how bad we are rather than spending time worrying about Coley, Robinson etc.

I still can't believe the amount of people trying to justify and play down chants/comments like that.

One or two agreeing with the chants - vast majority not happy with the chants.

Get things in perspective - Coley did, he found it funny.

Who is justifying it?

It was a chant at a sporting event ffs. Hardly something to get worked up about. I bet you write to "points of view" as well...

Look.... as I said before... nobody really wishes him dead. There are songs from many clubs in our game that aren't always in good taste... songs about getting a gun and shooting opposition fans... I'm sure nobody wants to do that either. It's simply a way of showing him how bad the fans feel about the conduct in which he left the club. In 2007 we needed performances... especially from our big players and ones we considered to be loyal to the supporters and the chairman. We all knew Coley was leaving... but he was a disgrace that year. He wanted to leave when he agree to sign for Wigan.... he was asked to honour his contract in our hour of need... he wasn't allowed to leave so he chose to play in a way that could have destroyed our club. He performed twice... against Wigan. It was the most obvious showing of a lack of professionalism I have ever seen. He was running the ball in with no effort... carrying the ball loosely in a way he never had before and showing no remorse when he was losing ball on the first tackle.



Perhaps people should come along to the game against Huddersfield and see what sort of reception Hodgson and Korkidas get... players who left with dignity... who wore the shirt for the fans and made the effort to keep us in Super league that year.



I'm not trying to justify the singing of these songs... just trying to explain why the Salford fans feel so hurt by what he did.
