| Quote lancetodd="lancetodd"Surely It is not in Simms remit, to discuss the running of the club, only Mr Tarry.'"
It just depends on-
(1)Who asked the question.
(2)In what context was the question asked
(3)Where the question was asked.
(4)What would the response been if the answer was "I dont know"
Every time I have been at meetings concerning the attendance required so that we can pay the full salary cap the answer has always been 8000 and that's been from the Chairman,Chief Executive and on occasions Steve Simms.

| Club officials will always quote the ' perfect ' scenario, that is Salford at Barton paying the Max salary cap, the HKR chairman quotes 10 K at Craven park for them to be self sufficient, which given the facilities and location, adds up
So get out there and ' sell YOUR club '

| it seems to me SS is contacted direct by journo and just jibba jabbas about anything that they ask even if its not in his area of expertees
DT SHOULD be the voice of salford rugby but he doesnt communicate very well with us the fans or the local media, he leaves it to JW or SS which is wrong imo
I do rememeber the rare times DT has spoken in public and he did say that 8000 gives the opportunity to pay full salary cap not have to reach that figure to break even
I do agree with Starbug us the fans are the ones with the real power to make salford a success both on and off the field with a bit of work and positive news stories around the community and making people feel that Salford city reds are THEIR club you never know how many people we could get following salford on regular basis

Optimist, you have to be, because I dont think your management have it in them, unfortunatly like most clubs, mention ' marketing ' and they immiediately start thinking ' Corporate ' , and as much as they are a major part of your future income , fans through the gates will determine YOUR future, not ' prawn sandwiches '
All the best

| People get hung up on our management structure, who does what ect new blood is needed we all know that but i feel at the willows we were unable to attract the kind of people who will move the club forward in a new direction.
Now at Barton we have the tools to reaily go places i cant see any massive changes happening in the short term but medium to long term its a positive out look in my opinion
Its a weird time to be a salford fan imo, there are people who are optimistic about the future and where the club is heading, some and hell bent on putting negative spin on anything salford do and doing the club down at every opportunity and the rest bounce between the two on certain aspects of the club.
I do feel us fans need to do our bit to entice friends / work colleges / family into watching salford city reds we are the perfect advertisement for salford and we are free, if the club do their bit and give us the fans an fun packed evening with a competative rugby match and us fans get the mesage out that is a good night for all the family then there is no reason after a few weeks people will get the bug and come back again and again and again

| Lots of your fans took my ' reality check ' posts as negativity for Salford RRLFC , it wasnt meant that way , it was just the only way I could convey how it will be, we have been through it, it is very difficult, it ' hurts ' , but aeotd, the club belongs to you, the fans, you have just as much responsibility as the BOD to help make the club a success

| i agree with that its a crutial period of time for salford city reds, new stadium new beginings im just hoping the BOD, the management team, the football department and the admin at the club continue to move forward and progress in a positive manner and not die wondering what might have been .
There are lots of positive things going on in and around the club i just hope they continue to make giant strides as to me it seems every season the club start with good intensions and slowly lose interest and hopefully with a few wins playing a style of rugby us fans enjoy to watch the fans who have taken time away will be enticed back into the fold and we can build our fanbase
Us fans will make this move to barton a success or a falure, match day experience reaily is down to us fans the club can put pre match / half time shows on but reaily its all about the 80 minutes both on and off the field which will entice the people in / back

Was that the reality that we wouldn't be playing in Barton until May?

| I must admit I'm surprised to have read the rumour mongering about Salford's finances today. I thought any doubts would have gone with the deal to move to Barton? What has happened to the money raised from selling your old ground? Surely that would net Salford a good few million? Then if you are moving to a council facility, surely you didn't spend much at all on building it?

There's an interview with Dave Tarry about this on the BBC website now:
www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-league/17030132
if I was the club I'd be fuming about this part of the accompanying article...
Quote Tarry admitted they need to increase their average attendance to about 8,000 for the season to balance the books.'"
If you listen to the piece he doesn't say that at all; again, he says that 8k will allow us to spend what we'd like to spend to have a squad to challenge the top. Maybe he needs to be clearer in how he says it.

I'm not Tarry's biggest fan far from it, but to be fair to him I don't think he could have said it any clearer.
