Does this mean that they'll wear this new red kit at home games, the 'old' red kit at away games, and an 'away' kit at away games against teams who wear red?

mmm I know what you mean but Swinton never actually adopted a white V until the 1950s and 1960s. Until then they played in plain navy and it's not like we haven't had the design before, but like I say I get where you're coming from.
