the funny thing is weve gone from flat cappers not caring about French expansion teams in SL to discussing the relative merits of expansion teams in australia

the NRL is in drastic need of money to raise the salary cap to stop players leaving for SL, union and AFL. our current TV deal is poor relative to AFL.



so at the moment we need clubs who can expand the value of the TV deal the most



the 2 newest clubs who would do that are a queensland club first and then central coast.



in the case of SL would adding widnes or leigh result in a large increase in TV rights? nope.



with the addition of the Gold Coast titans in the NRL TV ratings in the brisbane market are up something like 15% whilst other sports have had falling TV ratings



more queensland teams means more games in queensland involving one of their teams than an out of town team.

for the record, JB says the NRL should go to perth and forget about central coast.



but guess what, when it comes to SL he sure can justify a place for Hull KR (his own club)

He doesn't need to justify a place for Hull KR, they are already in the league





And did he say forget about CC? Or did he say it is more important for the game that Perth comes first?



And what would the TV ratings increase be if Perth got an NRL team? There isn't anything to compare it with. Would NSW see much of an increase, seeing as it already has 10 teams? It's a pretty saturated market.



Did the inclusion of Celtic Crusaders see a TV increase?

So we can take it from that, that you only support expansion to increase revenue and not for the spreading of the game. So your not actually a fan of expansion at all. Infact we can take it, that you would have all the teams in Sydney if it increased the TV money. True colours well and truely been shown there.



So the facts are - your not a supporter of expansion - you just want more money for the current clubs. Sounds like your the biggest "corkcapper" on here.
