I'd have to agree with this. Although another which most would have missed was Saints playing in Perpignan. I don't think either team was more than a score ahead all game, and we won in the last thirty seconds or so with a great try from Wheeler. It was a brilliant atmosphere.

1999 Challenge Cup Semi at Headingley, neutral venue my backside...



Any match at Central Park with more than 6000, always a special atmosphere.

Saints v Bradford at Wembley in 1996 is one of my favourites.



The other one that sticks in my mind is the Lancs Cup final at KR against Wigan in the 92/93 season,fantastic.

World Championship 1972, Game 6, between Bobby Fischer and Boris Spassky. Fischer showed a mastery of queenside play and delivered a crushing attack.



You could have cut it with a knife.

Away at wigan in the play off in 2003, 12 months prior we'd been battling relegation, now we'd scraped into the play offs on teh back of lee briers broken scaphoid and graham appo's every match form. It was party time as we said goodbye to wilderspool and also the 2003 season.



The 'Joey' game in 2005 v leeds, the home sides were full well before ko, joey says its up there with his most nerve wracking memorable games and the roar that went off as he kicked the ball to start the game, that continued with burrow dropping it and then getting tore a new by chris leikvoll will live on forever.



one other one, its similar to the manly WCC game mentioned and its something fans of today haven't experienced and i can't see it happening any time soon.



1994, warrington played the mid week ocker team at wilderspool, 12 thousand in wilderspool and probably a lot more, it was first ad last time i experienced a 'tingly scary' old school crowd , where you couldn't move cept if the current caught you and you went with it.



As a 14 year old, used to small crowds at wilderspool it was madness, worrying but as the same time exhillerating, all while the players not good enough to get in the touring side nilled us.



Langer had been relegated to the midweek team getting scapegoated for teh first test loss, wendell sailor was just making it big and michael hancock was asked the question by the fletch "who, the ing hell are you?" after scoring a try.



Despite them showing us up goodstyle, it was an honour to watch that side, and being party to that match is what convinced me that rugby league was the sport for me, like i say, not gonna happen again anytime soon.

I've always thought the first game at the JJB was quite good, the following week at Shedingley was even better but the week after that at Knowsley Road when we started singing "Stuart Rapers Barmy Army" for the entire second half is the best atmosphere I've ever experienced.

Leigh 32 Whitehaven 16 at Halton Stadium, Widnes 2004 (Play off final, AET)

A truely fantastic occasion to end what was a very successful year.

Tonga 24 v New Zealand 25 at Wilderspool 1995 (World Cup)

A RL classic, skill, hard hits and a cracking atmosphere.
