| Quote Theboyem="Theboyem"Maybe i'm old fashioned in my views but in my opinion to play for England you should be, well, English! Wasn't he man of the match for the exiles against England just 3 months ago? Not for me i'm afraid, my interest in international RL has just died.'"
My interest in International League has not (and never will) die but it has certainly been dented a little with this news
I must admit I am disappointed to hear this. He is a quality player but we are already debating which half back partnership England should go with from Lomax, Brough, Widdop, Myler, McGuire etc. Despite the transition of Brough from Scottish to English (which I don’t agree with) at least all of these are representing their own country
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not coming over all jingoistic, it’s simply we have some half back options for a change and I don’t think we are desperate enough to call on Chase

No. One says he's eligible to represent in representative sport, the other says what his nationality is. They are very different things. SL's overseas quota system is different again to both of those two matters, and dependent on where a player was trained.

| What a joke - no doubt his approach to McBanana was prompted by advice from counsel, who will have stressed the value that playing for England will add to his visa application. Who knows, it might just be enough to net off the negative effect of trying to punch someones face off?

Got to agree. Slightly taken the gloss off the 4N anticipation

Unfortunately this had crossed my mind too, hopefully there's nothing in it other than a burning desire to play for England developed over a massive three years in the country.

| Quote FearTheVee="FearTheVee"When did he qualify to play? Was it before he played against us for the Exiles? How English was he feeling that afternoon?'"
Seen as no Cas players got picked for England, every Cas fan was cheering on the Exiles and Rangi Chase that day. Nothings black or white anymore.

| So maybe with a number of Antipodeans playing for England via the residence clause we may even win the Four Nations, or even the World Cup.
What a hollow victory that would be.
