Any suggestions for the highest aggregate score in a game where the final points gap was one converted try or less?

Looks like record for CC Final was 28-24 Wigan Hull 1985, with Hull Leeds, 25-24 in second.

52-46 it was, we were in heaven scoring that many at Headingley

What record is that? Leeds scored 50-odd against London in '99 and Saints v Bradford in '96 was a big score too.

I think we beat Gateshead 92-6 ish on a Wednesday night in the Arriva Trains Cup once, then bettered it with 100-12 the following Sunday. Our scoreboard could only go up to 99

I'd say the one thing these games have in common is that they're not enjoyable at all to watch. The biggest win I've seen is 90-0 against Barrow. There was no 'resistance' to speak of for a lot of the tries, and I suspect I wasn't alone in wanting Barrow to score. I remember Leeds drawing 46-46 (or similar) with Sheffield, and that was a dreadful game as well, only made exciting by Leeds' non-existent defence (IIRC just before a CC final) letting the Eagles score two tries in the last minute or so.

its not the highest aggregate score that goes to Bradford 96-16 Salford but it surely must be the highest score by a losing side

I'd guess there may be SL sides other than widnes who haven't scored that many in victory?

Highest I saw was 100-6 vs Nottingham City in 1990 with Colin Armstrong kicking 14 goals to equal a club record.

I went to that one too. It was a Yorkshire Cup tie played at Tattersfield, Doncaster.

It certainly was, although once into Lancashire, it was like passing the point of no return, so it was a case of getting to the game and worriy if you'd make it home after the game had finished.

Whitehaven 72 Fulham 6 - and we were leading on the 15 minute mark! Our coach (Bill Goodwin) said at training on Tuesday 'Shouldn't have got that try - upset them'.

How many of these scores, were 3pt or 4pt's for a try matches. I think Saints against Carlisle 112-0 was still 3 pts, not sure though.....
