it is only the train on squad, he might not make the cut or the team but this will probably help with his visa application at the end of the year

Maybe i'm old fashioned in my views but in my opinion to play for England you should be, well, English! Wasn't he man of the match for the exiles against England just 3 months ago? Not for me i'm afraid, my interest in international RL has just died.

All of this roughly translates as "I'm never going to get picked for NZ while Benji Marshall is around so I'm going to have to settle for England if I want to play at international level".

Yes. Nationality is different to being eligible to represent.
