I've said it for ages but what the Championships need is somebody to be appointed by the RFL with a specific remit to be the CEO for those leagues. Its obvious that Lewis and Wood are not interested, and so if we had somebody who's 'day job' it was to manage the affairs of the Championships we'd probably see an improvement. Let Lewis and Wood concentrate on the big ticket issues of SL and Internationals, let this person concentrate solely on the Championships.

As long as they have a budget to work with Derwent then yes , that is exactly what is needed |

No thanks, we've got a league where the majority of games are close and competitive and gives the C1 clubs something to aim for. The bottom of C1 would get annihilated by the top Championship clubs and just wouldn't do anyone any good. |

Nah, I agree with Red Robin, but let's take it a step further.... merge SL, CC and CC1 into one big league, each plays the other just once.

I'd dread to think the score between Featherstone vs Gateshead. If CC1 teams can put 70 past them I reckon Featherstone could put 100 past them.
I like the championship as it is, apart from you can't get out of it if your a good side. |

Maybe the idea should be to have a National League 1 of 14 teams with the same format as Super League with the division below being NL2 for developing clubs like Gateshead, South Wales, Bramley etc. If a place has ambitions to be in Super League, this is where you start. |
