Quote Ganson's Optician="Ganson's Optician"Question for the Mancunians amongst us. Can I buy a ticket through to Eastlands in Warrington, or do I have to buy a tram ticket when I get to Manchester? Also, where can you get on a tram to the stadium? On the limited number of occasions I have used the trams I seem to have got on the wrong one.'"
You could buy a Wayfarer ticket, which allows you to use Buses (both in Warrington and Manchester), Trains and Trams all day.
Group £21 - Up to 2 adults and 2 children. Children must be aged under 16. Proof of age may be required.
Adult £11
Concession £6 – For children 5 – 15 years (inclusive) or adults aged 60 and over. No concessionary pass or permit is needed but proof of age may be required.
More information at www.tfgm.com/journey_planning/Ti ... farer.aspx
I will probably get a Duo ticket to make my train cheaper and then buy the Metrolink return ticket separately for £2.90.
The Duo gives you one return train ticket, plus a second for half the price when two adults travel together and return the same day with Northern Rail on selected routes.

Thanks, much appreciated. Will work it all out later in the week, may be cheaper to get normal tickets with us having railcards.

You may well be able to buy a train ticket that includes metriolink through travel to Metrolink Etihad Campus. Whenever I travel home from Manchester Airport I buy a through ticket from the Airport Train Station to Heaton Park Metrolink station (train to Piccadilly, changing to tram at Piccadilly). It's cheaper than buying separate tickets, but you have to ask for them at the ticket office as none of the machines sell them. I don't know if you can buy through tickets from train stations outside Greater Manchester though.

I am sure a couple of years ago I bought a ticket from Sankey through to Bury, so hopefully will be able to. I am heading back to Warrington on Wednesday morning so I will ask when I arrive and post the answer on here for the benefit of anyone else getting the train over.

| You can buy tickets straight through to Metrolink stops from any train station in the UK. You used to be able to get them from the small ticket machines (the blue, Network Rail ones) but not from the Virgin/Cross Country/A. N. Other Branded machines. You can certainly get them from a manned office, though. There's no financial saving, but it certainly makes life easier.

| Oh and there are several pubs near the stadium - on Grey Mare Lane to the south end. They're not the best pubs in the world but provide as much as many fans want/need on a match day.

| Please be aware the massive Asda near the stadium (you can't miss it) wasn't serving alcohol to anyone in a rugby shirt last year! some fans were actually buying a plain £2 t-shirt and going back in genious!

| Just read on the Wigan site that over 65,000 have been sold and that more reserved sections have been opened at either end of the stadium.
Sounds very promising and it looks to have grown from last year.
Really looking forward to it.
