| I can see a lot of Warrington fans making the short trip, it's only 45 minutes by car or 1 hour 15 minutes by train (with a change) that is shorter than trips to Yorkshire and Hull.
Why not go into an area with untapped potential, the local Rugby Union and football is strong in South Wales so it makes sense to try and put roots in North Wales.

Will the RFL ever learn to stop biting the hands off of the first business men that come waving a big wad of cash?? Hell we might aswell get Steven Vaughan involved back in the game again at this rate.'"
Actually they didn't, they actually contacted him and asked him and promised him SL from the day they were born. That was taken from an interview with Leighton Samuel that I read somewhere. Makes it even more laughable.

I don't think parachuting a Super League team into an area of little or no interest in RL is in anyway putting down roots. The chairman of Wrexham FC himself has stated his motives for this move and I see it nothing more than self interest.
I'd liken it to building foundations out of sand.

stupid bloody RFL trying to grow the sport.
who do they think they are.
they should focus their scarce resources on failed heartland clubs who cant get crowds of 2000 despite being around for 130 years

I see the village idiot has been let out to play....
How about focusing resources on expansion which doesn't involve dropping teams into SL before they are ready and choosing reputable investors who don't hold the RFL to ransom?? Or is that beyond the realms of your intellectual capacity to comprehend?

| Quote GSF="GSF"A bit optimistic to expect 4000 Leeds fans to travel 80 odd miles in the gloom of mid winter, even if it is the season opener.Such a following is usually taken for their games at Bradford,Wakefield and Cas.'"
Leeds only brought just over 2 thousand to cas last year! admittadly it was terrible weather and on the tv, but the amount of traveling fans has been down since 2006.

Hull KRs crowds are around 8000 mark
they are an example of how a club in NL1 can turn it around
the new ground crusaders are playing in looks really good
also good to see there was interest in the club after leighton samuels wanted out

It is the first game of the season and it is a new stadium but even so 4000 is very very optimistic. I'd say Saints are the only team who ever brought that to Widnes.

yeah instead of the RFL determining when clubs are ready, well leave it to fans of rival NL1 and 2 teams who think they have a chance at SL, but really dont
look, the sooner the RFL stops trying to expand the sport the better
take the limited funds they have and give it to NL1 and 2 clubs to spend on more aussie players

You fell into the trap.
Just 6 years ago Hull KR would have been a failing club that had had over 100 years to build up a fanbase and hadn't. They never had a higher average crowd than Widnes and were usually lower than Leigh until the last couple of years.
Can you now stop using the ridiculous 100 years argument, teams have good periods and bad. There are many teams now getting 4-500 that at some stage in the last 100 years were powerhouses of RL, look at Swinton and Oldham for instance once the biggest game in RL although a long long time ago.

some trap.
what have been halfaxs crowds for the past 20 years? or any other of these failed clubs.
are any of these clubs actually doing anything to progress.
the only one maybe going anywhere is maybe halifax, and it isnt much
taking out widnes, there arent any other heartland teams that have any chance at SL anytime soon
the lesson for Hull KR is clubs can turn it around and get into SL. so all these other clubs going nowhere need to look at clubs thatve turned it around and copy it
if they dont have the financial means to do it, they should accept SL is beyond them and just live within their means, and hope they dont die off.
