| Quote Cheshire Tiger="Cheshire Tiger"Really gutted and made up at the same time. Epic display from a very young Castleford side that deserved more.
Phil Bentham changed the game with two appalling efforts. How many times does the video ref affect a game negatively? It really makes you wonder if its worth it. I really genuinely think he cost Cas the game tonight.
Seperately, I know its been done to death but Wigans defensive techniques are a really worry for the game. Its not dirty, but will cause injury (though it wasnt to blame for Emmitt) and sends the game in a very dark direction.
Well done Cas, you did us proud tonight'"
Said that tonight, if it wasn't on tele, this game would have gone differently for you lot. It's becoming a farce for the last couple of years the video ref.
I really don't recall about 5 years ago coming away from watching a sky broadcasted game talking about referees influencing games, little niggling incidents, seeing crap lost ball by so many players and general dog-turd options by supposedly inspirational players (Chase - he was garbage out there).
Maybe i'm this disillusioned after watching the SOO, as it's even further infront that I first envisaged.

| I don't want to go down the 'cheats' route here but that is two games in a row Wigan have won through some appalling decisions - the Richards forward pass try and controversial McGuire disallowed try, and now a blatant obstruction not punished against Wigan while Cas are denied clear benefit of the doubt try.

| There are peaks, and there are troughs, there are things that go for you, and things that go against you.
When fortune favors you and punishes your opponent its best to keep some humility and remember that one day, likely not very far in the future, you will have swapped places.

Appalling decisions? We get as many of those against us as for us. Bentham has an appalling record reffing us so I wouldn't expect any favours from him. As for decisions, Richards was taken out off the ball by Sinfield last week and we didn't get anything. Could have cost us a try. Hoffman had no less than 3 chicken wings performed on him by Lee Smith and Rob Burrow and, whilst Burrow received a ban, it's not much use once the game is over is it? As for McGuire - he knocked on. It's the first time I've seen any "controversy" over a knock on being given when a player has dropped the ball, but it's simply hot air being blown by those who wished he had scored. Not sure what the fuss is about tonight. If it's the ball being held up, well it seemed to be from what I saw.
Also, didn't Cas try to score by having too few men in a scrum? That went unpunished. I await the calls of "cheats" directed at them.

| Never liked the 'benefit of the doubt' award of a try. I might be old fashioned but the aim of the game is to score a try by earning it, not by being given it as a cop out 'just in case' the ball was down. Good defence deserves to be rewarded and if the officials can't see it, get up, walk back 10m and get back on with the game.

| Physically impossible for the ball to have touched the ground. There was enough evidence to prove "beyond doubt" that it wasn't a try.
Correct decision.

| I think it's clear Tuson's leg was under the ball.
Anyway, we've discovered a new tactic tonight. Win the ball by going in with the knees at full pace and knocking the full-back senseless, and then line up a colleague to ground the loose ball. All fully acceptable, apparently.

| Tusons leg is clearly under the ball; I wouldn't have been surprised or even too miffed if it had been given BOD to Cas. The obstruction the same, 50/50, but it's the fact the cas player tackles the Wigan dummy runner which is why it's not deemed an obstruction.
Whilst we're on the subject though, the thugs 'try' after widders booted Tomkins on the floor was never a try due to the aforementioned foul; in fact Tomkins received a lot of rough housing and high shots all night (complain he's a cheat all you like). Although the way some go on, I reckon you'd be happy to see Tomkins career ended through injury and would take pride in it if it it were one of your teams players.

Can you imagine if the roles reversed and McGoldrick was the fullback with the ball and lima came storming in with the boots kicking anywhere for Joel Tomkins to score the try? These boards would go into virtual meltdown because of how disgusting our tactics are
