Quote Starbug="Starbug"Unlike SL we still have a 50 % salary cap , and if things dont go as well as you hope [ or as well as the figures you supply to the RFL then you can infringe that rule , this is one of the problems we have in the Championships , and one of the reasons I moan about the Thursday TV games , we usually end up with all our best matches being on tv and suffer financially because of it , and the other issue now is , will we be in the same position next year ? , having lost our benefactor mid season , we have players on contracts that we have to honour , but our income has been drastically reduced
All bollox really being where we are , this is quite likely to make it even more difficult to bring in somebody to take over the club as it could affect our ' box ticking ' for 2012
Maybe the RFL could come out and state now if it will be a blot on our copybook as regards that'"
If it is so difficult to judge whether or not a club will be able to stay within the the Salary Cap rules, within the Championship, then we'll probably see several other clubs having the same problem. I haven't seen any such breach by other Championship clubs yet.
So how is it only Leigh who've managed to feck it up?
Has there been some new ruling which has made it more difficult?
Why on earth would the RFL base a 50% rule on expected/projected revenue?
That’s plain crazy!
