I noticed that.



You could have watched a nature programme on migrating trout and they would not have mentioned the word as much as he did.

Once upon a time the word "straight" was acceptable. i.e. "he steps right and straightens up"



Then along came international coaching conferences and from then it was "he steps right then heads upstream!"



Ridiculous! Plain english has gone and its something that does my head in.



How many times in the phrase "arm wrestle" used? Whats wrong with the forward battle or similar?



I suspect they are often used as cliches by coaches who often want to suggest they know more than they actually do? I mean, "we knew we had to win the arm wrestle." What kind of comment is that????



The better coaches dont use them as often ive noticed.

With a team who should win every match with the money they spend but he does not he was a crap player and even worse coach.

Really does my head in

He described a player dropping in as a "pendulum" or "mini-pendulum." Definite phrase of the week for week.

Watching it again as it is so funny.
