| Always had a soft spot for Bradford and supported you in many finals, so not taking any pleasure seeing where you are at the moment.
You remind me a lot of Wigan circa 2005 and 2006 (70-0 and 75-0 in 8 days, the flirt with relegation and having too many players who aren't of the quality of a big club), a big fall after being one of the big boys. Sometimes you have to reach rock bottom before you can rise to he top again. You've certainly got the support to rise fast again but what I don't know is are there enough quality youngsters coming through the ranks like you've had in the past?

Actually, the situations are only superficially similar, seeing as funding for the first team, coaching and facilities was never an issue for Wigan. Bradford don't have the option of buying themselves out of trouble as Wigan did. Wigan's fall from being one of the top clubs only happened for a season (as per Leeds in 1996), whereas Bradford haven't really been contenders for several years.

It was more than one season. We didn't make the play-offs in 2005 or 2006 and always gave ourselves too much to do pre top 8 play-offs when Noble was in charge to be serious contenders. While Whelan was always ready to dip into his pocket like you say, it was more miss than hit. Since Lenagan came onboard we're being run like a proper business that has to pay it's own way.

| But like somebody said on another thread i think,
Its not potters fault with all the errors that are being made on the field and the penalties the players give away which leads to losing field position, you cant blame potter for:- tackling players in the air, holding down, knock ons, forward passes. not finding touch with a penalty or infact when a player gets injured,
Yes potter may of had a game plan but when a PLAYER misses a tackle and other players have to compensate for this it leave gaps ie. Crookes coming accross to stop richards then the ball being passed back over where crookes was no where to be seen,
Personally and this is only my OPINION but wigan made us look that bad cos on the day they really were that good, wigan are a fast team and have learnt how to have a fast play the ball and that is what run us ragged from breaking the line and us having to compensate out of position.
If that makes sense ha

Strange how the teams with recognised top coaches rarely make those simple errors. Show me a team where players say that & it is usually a team in trouble.

If the players are making mistakes on the field that means mistakes are being made on the coaching ground. If the same mistakes are being made continuously by the same players then THAT is the fault of the coaches because they are not properly addressing the faults and adapting the training to remove those faults from the players game.
However, the fault is not solely at the feet of the coaches. The player must WANT to learn to improve their game. Otherwise it's all just a waste of time and that player is stealing money from the club.
