If ref hadnt bottled it and either yellow or red carded ablett, and to a lesser extent bailey, Then given theres a cup semi next week ,you can bet disciplinary would have given sending off sufficient.

By putting them on report ganson has removed that option from there nal and increased likelyhood of them being banned for cup semi. Which just happens to be against team he openly acknowledges being a supporter of. Or am I being too cynical

Ablett deserves banning for the rest of the season, raised elbow, he could of broke Tomkins neck.

It showed how daft it was when Coley got sin binned for something that was harsh for just a penalty, never mind a yellow card. And yet Ablett nearly breaks Tomkins' face and only gets a penalty against him (since "On Report" means absolutely nothing, they can get cited for anything anyway).

The mind boggles.



Is this the same Ganson that sent Morley off after the first minute during a GB game? The whole sin binning with Coley was ridiculous in comparison.



Foul play such as this from Ablett should have resulted in action being taken while the current game is in progress. OK he could potentially get a ban, but how does that help the team where the foul play was deemed against.

I have long defended Ganson because he's always had the balls to show a straight red when its warranted instead of doing a Russell copout Smith and putting it on report.



I was genuinely suprised he didn't show the straight red last night. I can only presume he was looking at the onside situation or some other facet of play and that his touchies failed to give him the right info.

Why is it an over reaction? It was a malicious and dangerous challenge and should have resulted in a red card and could have resulted in a season and possibly a career ending injury.

Can I just ask what your opinion of Ablett's "challenge" was?

i thought tomkins was going down with the ball and was ducking into ablett, i admit it looked far worse than it was and i don't believe that their was any malice intended.

if he had been stood upright then i can agree with you,but it's very hard to determine a pre-meditated head high shot when a player is going down before contact is made



if he gets banned then that will obviously be the benchmark for all similar incidents for the next week or so by our disciplinary, but i bet that self same tackle will go unpunished come GF play-off time

It looked bad but Ablett's arm didn't even go that high, not even to neck level.



Some good aggressive RL last night, at least games when the top teams play each other are worth watching, because not a lot of SL is at the moment.
