I think we should let Scully go can't see why we signed him in the first place.

Sculthorpe was signed to give the pack a bit of extra grunt because tbh we are light in that area. However, given that at the end of this month he will have been at the club 6 months and not yet pulled on the shirt I think it would only be sensible for the club to look at giving him a release.

I think I said you would not get 10 games out of him. I'm mellowing in my old age.

Hope the lad gets sorted soon. Can't be good for him mentally missing all this time.



Did we sign him on a "pay as you play" type contract? In which case he could be costing us nothing or very little? We might end up waiting if that is the case as he does offfer something very different to what we have when he's fit.

If we DID, then I hope the lad's insurance is paid up and sufficiently comprehensive to cover what he would otherwise have earned? As otherwise he'll be destitute?

There is provision for them in the salary cap Operational Rules - it is assumed the player plays a given number - 2/3 = 18, I think? - of games in a full season for salary cap purposes. Whether you can pay the WHOLE salary as pay-as-you-play, or only part (there are minimum wage issues if nothing else) I dunno?

I think the reasons behind signing Sculthorpe were good ones but it was always one of those 'gamble signings'. Unfortunately it hasn't paid off so far and we will more than likely need to sort a replacement for him before too long.



In the meantime I hope he has a successful recovery, it sounds like he is having a tough time of it right now.

would add the much needed grunt upfront......lynchy doesnt seem to play like he useto sculthorpe could be a very handy player to bring on at crucial times .......if he plays at all

He was a good signing and would have added a much needed up front player.
