| I agree offside. I'm quick to criticise some of our backs so feel I should give them their dues for last night. Both our tries came from excellent centre play. The dart and flick pass from Turner was quality and Josh Jones won the game for us with his run down the left to put Meli in.

Was it true that Gleeson saw a pitch covered in white powder and thought he'd gone to heaven?

| Really good win as those conditions make the game a lottery. It was extremely cold, windy and the snow just didn't stop. Full credit to all the players, fans, officials, stewards, ball boys etc as that wasn't fun last night.
We got the 2 points, let's move on and hopefully we'll see better conditions at Wigan next week.

| I wanna go home,
I wanna go home,
Nobody's singing,
I wanna go home.
It was freezing in the West corner of the North Stand last night - tried to get a few songs started on the first half, but only our block did any singing.
Anyway, in terms of the game itself, we got the job done which is the most important thing. We weren't superb, but we did enough, and I thought we controlled the game pretty well for the majority. On nights like last night, it's all about grinding out wins, and we did that.

It was too bloody cold to sing. I'm normally in the West Stand and I normally join in with the singing but last night it was a case of so long as I stayed still I could just about cope with the cold and wet. I certainly didn't feel like singing. I was just glad to get through the match.

| Quote Happy Red="Happy Red"I'm made up with the result to be honest!
Sneyd is quality and I think he may have found his new position at fullback, seems to be the trend these days with the likes of Tomkins and Lomax making the same move. We need to get him signed up on a long term deal.'"
Tore our 20s to shreds last season at salford, does look very talented!
Our back three very good and thought Turner and Ade made some very good reads in defence. Sia coming on gave us much better go forward. LMS and Walmsley carried well too. Definitely looked sharper with speakman in at hooker however he is very lightweight and probably shouldnt have defended the middle. The penalty he gave away on tackle 4 soon before one of their tries was very poor play but he will learn
In weather like that a win is a win and our two tries were pretty nice tries too which is a bonus

| Quote MickeyMo="MickeyMo"I wasn't impressed with the tackle that ended TP's night. He was stood up in the tackle and the third man came in around the knees while the legs were planted. That's the way it looked through the snow anyway. Any news on him?'"
I agree, the rule making at the moment is clueless from the RFL. They want to stop these tackles so instead of outlawing third man tackles aimed at the knees they have early held calls that just stop offloads rather than foul play. They want to stop reckless high tackles to they ban the shoulder charge without defining what a shoulder charge is.
Why not just ban what is causing the injuries, then there is no interpretation or loop holes so these things can still happen.

Just had a little look n the stats page of the superleague website.
If you sort our players by "Clean Breaks", top of the pile (joint with Lomax) is Josh Jones. I wouldn't have expected that.

Josh Jones is strong. I was glad to have the chance of watching a game side on for a change on Friday night as I was able to see much more clearly what he brought to the party. He isn't fast but he is big and strong, which would help him bust through defences. He also has a useful side step on him.

His fend is very good, once he's on the outside of his man, too. Demostrated by the way he pushed off Broughton, twice, in the build up to Meli's try.
I think calls for him moving to back row are a little wide of the mark (even though he was defending about 4 channels in on friday).
Its nice to switch your angle of veiwing every so often. From the end you tend to see the attacking/defensive structures more clearly, but I feel that you get a much better feel of the momentum of the game by watching from the touch line (no singing though).
