| Quote Albion="Albion"I think he SHOULD be in contention, why not? We need to keep rotating the pack to make sure we are fit come the end of the season.
Rotation is also key in terms of Walker, Greenwood and Walmsley as they are still finding their feet in the first team.'"
Why not ?
Because he's lazy, not interested, slow, he's a liability in defence and gives Way silly pens.
Its a squad game so he's part of that but IMO he's behind TP, Laffranchi, clough, lms, greenwood, walker and Walmsley.

| He would be straight in at prop for me.
One thing i would look a though is partnering him with LMS. That would give us a stopper/enforcer prop in Perry and a fast mobile prop in LMS.
It would allow Lafranchi to play either off the bench or in the starting backrow.
Walker and Greenwood have done a job for us when in the side, but they are not quite there yet physically.
In the past few weeks and especially against Leeds it has really shown up how much we are lacking in the front row.
Jamie Peacock had a field day against us, and while Perry is no worldbeater he can stop opposition packs from building up momentum.

Josh Perry is no longer a enforcer. He gets smashed every week. I honestly can't recall one game that he's played well in the two and a half years he's been here.
Great signing at the time but it just hasn't worked out.

In both those seasons he missed a large chunk of pre season through injury. I agree that he didnt offer us much, but i want to see if a Josh Perry with a full pre season under his belt will offer us more.
If he doesnt, then we dont renew his contract and take steps to give the young forwards at the club more game time to fast track them into the system.

| I would love to be proven wrong but I just don't see how Perry can come back into the team and suddenly start producing the good after two years of injuries and awful form when available.

| Why spoil his holiday?
Worst Aussie signing since Michael O'Connor.

Clough has only just come back from injury and has had no gametime or proper pre season I'm sure he will improve as he gets more gametime.

Although Clough hardly ever makes any errors, I am not really impressed with him as a prop. He just twists and runs backwards into players, and doesn't make much headway doing that.

Thats how I see him, when he first came on the scene thought he might develop into an "Andy Platt" type of prop. I know he has injuries but what you see of him now is most likely the finished article, wish he could be doing more tackle busts and create an offloading game. Not a starting 17 player for me but a fringe player who will not let you down for effort.

Unless his game develops, he'll stay a 4th choice prop, but he mad more yards last year thanlaffranchi from less carries and was one of the better players going forward in the defeat to Leeds. Often when we lose and the pack isn't performing , Clough plods a long at normal rate and is actually one of our best go forward guys.
We're in a salary capped game and clough's lack of what might be considered star quality, combined with a good ability to gain yards and defend reliably, should mean that he's excellent value for money.

the stats would disagree with you, it doesn't look pretty or glamourous but he makes good yardage. Cloughy is excellent value for money

| Regarding Clough: Read the sig.
Perry I thought was our decent prop when we where going no where in early round against Huddersfield. I also think he adds competition for places which is good and will keep the younger fellas eager to perform.
Walker and Greenwood will only get better by being spelled like Graham was in his early days. Also if Perry plays prop, does that not open up the oppertunity to play Laffranchi in a more appropriate role at SR???
With regards to LMS, I feel he has to start matches, when he comes on half way through he offers less, but as a starter, he's right into the action and seams to respond to that.
option A
LMS Roby Perry Manu Sia Wellens
bench: TP Laffrachie Flanagan Walker
option B
LMS Roby TP Laffranchi Sia Flanagan
bench: Greenwood, Clough, Manu, Wellens
option C
Warmsley Roby Perry Manu Sia Wellens
bench: LMS, TP, Clough, Laffranchi
etc. Keep those props fit, rotated and raring to go
