| Carmont's was a flat hand across the player's face.
Nothing will be done.
Lima was binned as he was judged to have tackled the standing leg of Clarkson. Which is foul and dangerous play in the new rule.
When you look at the replay Clarkson was not on a standing leg.
"Standing" of course means stationary.
Clarkson was running at the two Wigan tacklers with his legs pumping pushing them back. At the point of impact Clarkson's leg was off the ground as he was still running.
At no time in the incident was Clarkson stationary and on a standing leg.
Lima tackled a man running with the ball.
It was a very legitimate tackle.

| The bottom line is, the next team to play Wigan will benefit from any punishments - we had ten minutes less of Lima. Imagine if he had been sent off how we would have benefitted.
The Carmont incident should have been picked up by the chuckle brother....

| Quote Omar Little="Omar Little"I know all fans are biased but wigan fans with this and the whole McGuire and Ablett storms last year really do take it to an extreme.
What is so hard to understand...Lima drove his shoulder into an already held players legs, he makes no attempt whatsoever to make a tackle with his arms (as shown in that freeze frame he's dropped his tackling arm to drive in with the shoulder) - there is only one outcome if his technique (I shan't call it a tackle) had come off and that is a very very serious knee or leg injury.
As someone said on the VT, Lima could really have done pretty much anything else and it would have resulted in a completed dominant tackle without a penalty
It doesn't matter if Clarkson's leg is standing or if the first contact is above the knee - the intent was to cause injury and there is no need for that in the game. It was an absolutely cowardly attack.
I'd also add that I do martial arts and it's a well known fact that driving downwards into somebody's leg (in that context with a kick but here with a shoulder) tends to pin the foot to the ground - the leg then has to buckle and most likely its serious damage - it was only lucky that clarksons leg lifted slightly before the impact (through sheer chance)'"
Thats the point he wasnt held he was still making yards up the pitch!!
So was the leg on the ground or in the air??

| Lima should be called up. It was a disgraceful tackle and the ref judged it bad enough to be sin binned.
Carmont isnt a dirty player and I think that one was accidental. It looked pretty bad but I think he will get away with that.
"Super" Sam tries to get involved in every little scuffle there is. Its just a shame Cross didnt break Tomkins fecking skull. It wont be long before he gets what he deserves the scummy little st

Agree with that bit. The rest, not so sure is necessary.

Making inches rather than yards at the point Lima had a legitimate right to wrap his legs up.
Quote Ian Roberts Closet="Ian Roberts Closet"So was the leg on the ground or in the air??'"
The leg nearest Lima was in the air (fortunately), Clarkson's right leg was on the ground. The problem appears to be Lima drove in (with force) with his left shoulder rather than wrapping the legs with the arms and that was dangerous.
Just as the disciplinary recently saw intent after Joel Tomkins recent sending off against Hull it would be somewhat inconsistent now if they don't also see intent from Lima in that incident from Friday.

Going out of his way to deliberatley try to stir things up and trying to cheat his way through games. Is that 3 weeks on the trot where someone has tried to shut him up?
I think just about every other player in Super League would like to give him the slap that he deserves. He does not respect other players playing the game and people will take exception. Ask Ben Westwood or Ben Cross.
