It was just one of those godawful ones with Cuthbo that the more he tried, the worse it got.



The mistakes in themselves seemed to come just when we were building up a head of steam and feeling our way back in, that's the frustrating part.

No shortage of effort from the team on Sunday and I felt sorry for Cuthbo who has returned after the break looking very fit. However, quality teams need more than just effort. Rhinos need more pace........ as illustrated in all the 3 games played since the resumption and some creativity in the forwards. I thought Smith would provide some of that but he’s turned into an enthusiastic, hardworking second rower without any real creativity. Maybe he will improve but I haven’t seen any evidence thus far. Not easy to resolve either deficiency but solutions must be found. Thompson will fill a gap for the remainder of the season but no more than that. Lao think it will take time for the new half back partnership to gel ......... at least we have the time this year to experiment without any relegation threats etc.

Creativity will come, individually and collectively, when we get on top of the opposition.I reckon we have plenty of forwards with a bit of skill in them but if we can't win the arm wrestle then we end looking lightweight and get flattened.

Yep & as long as it continues we'll be stuck between the dizzy heights of 10th & 6th at best.

Something we may have to get used to until we get back on track financially though I feel the lads are a bit better than that. My gripe is more on the head coach longer term.

The Coaching set up is another thing that needs sorting.
