I play off a 6 handicap. It is the most frustrating game in the world!
In answer to the person who asked about how Handicaps were worked out - it is more complicated than explaining the Football offside rule!! Its all based around how many under par you are to your handicap, what the 'standard scratch' for the course is and what 'category you fall into with your current handicap!

Used to play for years ever since i was 3 or 4 up until i was 17 (now 19). Unfortunantly, everyone I played with stopped so I hardly ever play now. Got my handicap down to 12 when i was 17 and I thought that was quite respectable. It's quite easy to get to a decent standard... one where you won't be embarrassed to play with your captain on club pro but to master it is extremely hard. |

I should be lower but I dropped 15 shots last weekend... 7 of them were on 2 par 3s which killed my card. The rest of my card was awesome.
Anyway I'm playin a league game at 5 tonight. I love the wet too. Shot a 71 a few weeks back in similar conditions. |

I go away for one weekend every year and play with some buddies I have no other contact with during the year. Inbeween getting ratted we trundle around the course (2 rounds Saturday, one Sunday morning). My bats remain in their sack for the rest of the time. I wouldn't play golf unless it was a social event where the main objective is to drink a few beers, eat some food, drink a few beers, have a laugh, drink a few beers, then eventually drink a few beers.
