Quote af="af"FWIW, Sam (Bullseye, not Burgess) has made an interesting analogy to Leeds when they lost Morley. Things looked bleak then but on reflection the seeds of the current success had already been sown. Fair?'"
I've no idea because it all depends upon what you have coming through the ranks.
Do you have a crop of players about to play regular 1st team or 1 year away from the first team to match the following ;-
Sinfield, JJB, Diskin, Ward, Chev Walker, Bailey, Calderwood, Mathers, McGuire, Burrow
IIRC we lost Morley after the 2001 season. By 2003 we were a very close 2nd to your all conquering team with all of the above plus some astute signings being regulars in the team. the next year we kicked on to the start of our current halcyon era.
I don't think we'd reached as low as 8th though so you have a bit more to climb.
Personally, I hope Bullseye is right and I hope things pick up for you again, very quickly. Whilst I always gain pleasure from Leeds victories over the old foe I gain no pleasure from seeing Sl's pioneers languishing the way you are at the moment.
