Quote batleyrhino="batleyrhino"We were beaten by a team who have a coach that is light years ahead of ours. Warrington were very good, and even when we were holding them in the first half, we didn't really look as though we were structured, organised, had a gameplan or good technique.
We have forgotten everything that Smith coached us, and it shows. We continually lose collisions, we are forever disorganised on the last tackle, we have no shortage of effort but plenty of shortage of brains. Delaney works hard and can run some good lines, but needs to learn hoe to defend in a structure. We seriously lack go forward and composure, two key ingredients of a well coached team.
GH needs to look for a new coach for next year, because another year of this and people will lose interest.'"
Well, thats saved me some time as I agree with all of that.
A poor appointment that I didn't agree with, and not the answer going forward.
The team selection was bizarre, both in terms of personel and structure. The substitutions were bizarre, and the inability to get out of our own half in the second half quite incredible. We looked like an indisciplined pub team second half, didn't McDermott specificaly state he was going to fix this pre-season?
We have indeed forgotten everything Smith coached us.
There was a healthy attendance last night, the main driver for GH to take action must be the realisation that crowds like that will drop less year unless we can be competitive in such games.
