Best player in the country. Hopefully he can make a real crack of it in the NRL, and help make England competitive

William Eve for your information I am a Rhinos fan and have been for over 50 years, I am entitled to my opinion as you are and I can make it without swearing!!! and I don't have to repeat my words "and and". That said I take your point of view, but I for one will be pleased to see the back of him. Ellery Hanley he ain't and he has done nothing at international level !!! has he? He will get mullered in the NRL. I hope he does make a success of it down under however again I am not interested in the NRL, we need to lead in our game not copy the Aussies.

I'd be very disappointed if he went to Union. Going to the NRL makes total sense for him. He isn't the most likeable character but he is at least a character and is also the most gifted player this country has produced since Ellery Hanley in my opinion.



I agree that the soft focus montages etc on BBC are a bit much. But they're also not actually his fault.



A blow to SL if he's going but the show will go on. I'd rather that than lose him from the sport altogether.

John wilkin is articulate and intelligent as a pundit, one of the few rugby league players who is.

Yeah he probably is, but how many people that aren't regular RL fans know his name?

Sam Tomkins will be a huge loss to SL - a genuine x-factor player that fans will pay to watch. We need more of his type - players who are media friendly and attract column inches and TV time.



On Jon Wilkin - the most articulate pundit on any channel - if I were SKY I would signing him up to replace Eddie and Stevo as host of the SL match day programme.

If a fullback with average (at best) defence is the best player in SL then the game really is screwed.



Good on him whatever he does, he certainly creates publicity. Not as much of a loss to the game as some would believe though. I realise I have an obvious bias, but we too have a young English born fullback capable of breathtaking attack - only ours can tackle too

Re Jon Wilkin, I'd agree he comes across well. However, I'm not convinced I've ever heard him come out with anything remotely insightful or even interesting.

I disagree - I think he describes the nitty gritty and the tactics really well. He takes you inside the field of play.
