If so, he didn't come up with that particular play in yesterdays game. But he's done it many, many times.



A good example this season would be lee smiths last gasp try against bradford, or a brett delaney try in the first half against catalans in france.



Mcguire had the ability to quickly asess what's in front of him and see when a kick is the better option. Not only that, but the execution is perfect.

Thought McGuire and Tompkins had pretty similar games personally. The intercept apart Sam looked dangerous as did Danny. I like to see him taking the line on like he was. TBF it wasn't really great conditions for either to do something special though.

I don't think it was inexperience, the try was also on had he executed the pass a bit better. Had he thrown it a foot higher Wigan would be in the semi. And who knows, he might have executed the grubber just as badly had he taken that option.

If he'd thrown it a foot higher it would have likely flown into touch.



To get it over hall and back down into the wingers hands he'd have had to loop the ball over hall but that would take all pace off the pass and by the time it fell into the wingers hands leeds defence would have covered across. Even if the grubbers not executed well a drop out is still a possibility.
