I thought there were a couple, plus the pies were never onside in their own 20.
Well played wolves!

| I'll want St Helens to win their semi final (as that will clearly be the best result for Leeds) but it won't stop me supporting Huddersfield during the game tomorrow.
I'll be hoping for a close tense arm wrestle either way.
Well done to Warrington today. I well remember the feeling of getting back to Wembley after a sixteen year wait in 1994 and it was the greatest feeling without winning a trophy.
Warrington's first final in nineteen years to look forward to will be quite something. Congratulations to them and especially their ex Leeds contingent.
On to the final and Warrington will be after their first Challenge Cup since the 1973/74 season. Tony Smith's first season in charge, a club waiting a lifetime inbetween dinks. It has a familiar feel to it.

if ever there was an example of the halves/pivots setting the platform with direction and inspiration that was the game (plan) to show it.....

Interesting that - when the Wigan forwards dominated in the first 20 minutes you never saw either Warrington half back as soon as Noble replaced Coley and Tomkins the Warrington forwards took control and that was that until Noble brought Coley back and hey presto no sight of the Warrington half backs - simple really half backs cannot operate behind a beaten set of forwards - touchee

It wasn't Tomkins it was Prescott and he really needs to sort out that first carry.
Warington (Smith) did a number on Palea'aesina today. I don't know why every team don't do the same.

Adrian Morley > Wigan forwards (and Leuluai at one point)...
Chesney from Corrie needs to get rid of that attitude problem ASAP when things aren't going his way. King showed him up like a right tool at the end of the first half there.
Congratulations Warrington on winning a very entertaining game.
(bar the first 20 minutes of the second half, that is... shocking handling from both sides)

I agree they isolated him and constantly ran at him - simply doesn't have the stamina to make two tackles in a set

touche indeed...
interesting that you feel a teams forwards can dominate even if it lasts only 20 minutes... the game lasts 80 minutes you know.
From where I sat the lasting dominating force in that game where the Wires halves working to imput an excellent game plan from TS.
If this myth about forward domination and halves taking their lead from them where true coaches would be redundant and we would only see boring repetitive matches not the excitment seen today.

| It's a shame King versus Tompkins wasn't allowed to run to it's natural conclusion. It would have been hilarious.

| I mentioned in the preview thread this week how Tomkins was beginning to annoy me already.
You can see why Noble had been reluctant to throw Tomkins in week in, week out. There's some talent there but a bit too much attitude going with it at the moment.
No doubt Warrington were giving him a serve, any coach would be missing a trick not to.

'"
The scoring resulted in sway of forward domination between the two sides whichever side had the forward domination - if the Warrington halves were so dominant how did Wigan manage to score so many points?
All sides look for the forwards to domainate to lay the platform once that happens the backs can then fire - the 2007 GF was classic example of that - the forwards beat Saints up and then in the 2nd half the backs took them to the cleaners.
You cannot win a game no matter how dominant your halves are if you forwards get beat up
