| The best referee should get the biggest games, i would not have any qualms whatsoever to see Ganson ref future games between the Rhinos and the Saints
I would also like to see the other refs improve their performances and consistency to challenge Ganson for the big games

| Just wish he'd make a decision on his own, if he had awarded the last try you could have forgiven human error, but the VR had plenty of opportuniy to see it was offside. The VR is making refs lazy.
Glad you won though, best team alround in 2009.

| I think last night Leeds demonstrated that they had learnt how to "deal" with Steve Ganson.
Think back to the game at Belle Vue, we gave Steve Ganson exactly what he wanted - attention. The amount of back-chatting and petty penalties in that game was cringeworthy and in those situations, Steve Ganson is in his element.
Last night, it was spot on. Leeds practcally ignored the fact that Ganson was there. It was a very disciplined performance which meant that (aside from a few whistles), Ganson had absolutely nothing to do from a Leeds perspective.
We all knew after that Wakefield game that the message had to get through. Thankfully, it did.

It think it’s combination of a couple of elements:
1. Leeds have really tightened their discipline problem
2. Ganson has a different reffing style for finals – he tends to let a lot of the petty stuff slip that he would normally put lips to whistle for in a normal league game.
Anyway - off to the Homecoming - bye.

| I'd like to complement both teams on their discipline. There were only a few penalties because both teams tried to obey the laws.

| Thought ganson couldn't get the whistle in his mouth quick enough at times yesterday! Should have put Cunningham in the bin no questions asked. if saints fans think they get a rough deal from the saint then they are kidding themselves! he can't help himself! but I've seen him have worse games!

Rubbish.
He interefered at the PTB, that's all. It was never a sin-binning offence.
Just watching the BBC highlights show, I thought Ganson's only errors were the penalty against Senior (there was nothing there to penalise), and the high tackle against Burrow (never a high tackle).
And his biggest error, IMO, was saving Saints from getting a smacking at the end of the game. James Graham had thrown his dummy out and wanted a fight. Ganson got hold of the situation completely and stopped them getting battered. From the PC, idiot brigade that was brilliant refereeing. From a RL supporter it was awful because Graham, Wilkin, Gilmour et al from getting tvvated.
