I think there is a direct correlation between the demise of civic pride and the formation of the WMDC.

I have news for you.
Very few people have been born in Castleford since 1976. This was when the maternity home was closed by the local health authority based in Wakefield, due to a declining birth rate. What is your point ?  |

Just seen that one. I find it interesting that we're constantly being told we're a "Small town in Wakefield", yet on that thread they state that an elected council leader from Castleford has no connection to their city. If Castleford is a "small town in Wakefield" surely he must be from Wakefield.
Talk about changing position to suit the circumstances. |
