| Quote Towns88="Towns88"Crusaders won't retain I'm glad my views are shared, but not happy. Maybe a rebel league, Cas Wakey Fev Widnes Fax KR Leigh Haven etc...Not ideal but I'd rather that then a 'feeder club' status of small teams still=#FF0000 producing class players and then having them robbed by the 'big city slickers''"
How would that change even if it was a ' rebel ' league , they'd still nick your best

This is true, then the R.F.U will try and pinch the best super league players
But is the garden rosy in the top league?, we have yet to have a sell out at wembley for the C.C final, the grand final last year wasn't a sell out,the magic weekend will never sell out while its held in edinburgh and is pretty pointless in my opinion.
We are as far away from beating the aussies as ever. They should be looking into all these rather than cutting the league, maybe they have been listening to jamie peacock abit too much.

| I think the superleague should just have leeds, saints, bradford, wigan, quins, wrexham, cat. as the league is bent in their faver!! and the rest should form there own league based on fairness and how good the team is not the ground or the fan base!! Viva La Revolution

| Quote Towns88="Towns88"I totally agree with everything apart from your final sentiments. How can you enjoy it as much now as you did when Fev were a top flight side? It just seems oh so pointless with no prospects really. Fev were hard done by when Super League first started. 2, if not 3 teams I feel will suffer similar fates should it be a 12 team franchise, because you can bet your bottom dollar it won't be Celtic who are booted out. 10K last night, impressive, it won't last though, yet we'll still hear about this 10K as probably their main argument for keeping them in.
Eventually Super League will probably consist of, Leeds Saints Wigan Bradford Warrington a Hull side a London side, 2 French sides, a Scottish side, a welsh side and possibly 1 out of a further 10-12 sides lusting to be there, the rest can in theory do as they please...Grim.'"
I do enjoy it just the same, the entertainment value is fantastic

| One reason for suggesting a reduction to 12 teams was the top players wanting to play less games. If we cut to 12 teams and all play each other home and away plus the edinburgh fixture then that's 23 rounds. At the minute we play 27 rounds. If the top players are whining about playing 4 extra games per season with the current training and conditioning they get then there is something wrong with them somewhere in my opinion. Maybe we should have a more australian type fixture list where you don't play everyone home and away every year? That would allow more teams into the SL without overloading the fixture list.

| Quote Gazemous="Gazemous"The one thing I'm truly worried about is the number of pathways young players have to the top level of the game. We want to encourage youth development and more international quality players, but then reduce the number of positions those youngsters can get experience with...
And the teams that would probably be chopped: Cas, Wakey and Salford, have all provided international players in the last year.'"
If the overseas is cut as it should be, there still wouldn't be enought young players coming through to fill 12 teams, let alone 14.

Yeah and they will all take a reduction in wages to balance the books won't they
Lots a fans have made sacrifices in the current climate to attend games but the players won't take less money for less games will they?
SL needs to EXPAND not contract IMO.

| I agree and if we adopt the current australian idea regarding fixtures(an idea that was in actual fact used in this country many years ago)then we could increase the teams in SL without affecting the number of rounds played that much. If we had a 16 team SL then a team could play 9 of their opponents twice, home and away(18 games)the other six only once either home or away(total 24 games)plus one edinburgh fixture. That's 25 rounds with 16 teams in the SL. Sounds okay to me! The edinburgh fixture list would also be evened up with 4 matches on each day.

How can that even remotely be described as a fair league? It makes a mockery of a competition.
