| If its gonna happen it'l happen, there is nothing the police or the club can do to prevent it. I really do hope it doesn't but Fevf fans are in the south stand then it is more than likely going to kick off. Fair enough not all Fev fans are idiots but id say a good 80% majority are. From my experience of the grand final 80% of the Fev fans i came across were complete muppets just wanting a scrap!

| I've posted before that I won't be going to Fev this season. As for the home game I hope there will be segregation in the ground - normally I'm not bothered about it. Last season I sat in the East Stand so I was away from potential trouble as in the 09 season there were a couple of idiots from Fev, one even throwing punches. For some reason the stewards allowed him to stay in the ground and he got on the pitch at the end of the game. And no one did anything. Some friends had an encounter with a few Fev fans after that game too.
Even if there is segregation there isn't a lot that people can do about what happens outside the ground. Unless they treat Fev supporters like football hooligans and escort them all to and from the ground. But that shouldn't happen in RL and the Fev supporters that do come for the rugby and a good day out should not be made to feel like trouble makers. It's such a shame that the actions of a few idiots has led to the game that we should all be looking forward to as the replay of the GF being talked about in this way. But the focus is on what is going to happen off it.
I seriously hope that there won't be any trouble at either of the Fev games. There was enough detraction from the game itself straight after the GF and I don't think it needs anymore.

| Quote marillion man="marillion man"My mate who goes all over the country watching Fev ( some of our posters met him on GF day ) isn't coming to the home game at the Shay because, and I quote him " word has it that there are Halifax fans looking for retribution ".'"
Aye, he's a top bloke and really knowledgeable about the game. However, the only 'word' he has heard is from Fev fans. Have you or any other Fax fans heard this 'word'?

Absolutely not. I have posted as much on their forum as well, telling them that they are all very welcome at the shay.

Have I heck !!!
I've tried to convince him but to no avail. He, like most of the Fev internet forum users don't use RLFans but prefer the other one that's popular, but i can't be bothered looking on there just prefer to dis-regard the rumours.
I have however witnessed problems at both the Shay & at Fev when our teams meet, and over recent seasons there have been problems with Fax & Leigh fans, all of which I'd say, rather small scale, but there nevertheless.

| Every time ive gone to Fev over the years there has been abuse hurled at us as Halifax fans. Fortunately it is by a minority. Much in the same way i suppose that we have our own idiots. I feel very bitter about what happened to the Fax fan on GF day and i hope that it was just an isolated incident by a few rougue GF day plastics. However, i will not attend any more games at Post office road as i now fear for our safety and this feeling is clearly reciprocated by genuine Featherstone fans. Sadly i think there is an issue and that trouble might well occur both home and away. Now is the time for the clubs to get their heads together in an official capacity and look to building bridges between both sets of genuine fans. This cannot be brushed under the carpet with the hope that the situation will look after itself. I am going down to the club on Monday and i will voice my view, hopefully someone will be in a position to contact the Featherstone club and enable some form of PR press release for starters.

You have to ask, is your fear for your safety rational?
I have been to many, many games at Post Office road, and always sit amongst the Featherstone fans. Yes they are very, very vocal and yes the are very very passionate. BUT I have never once felt that mine or my party's safety is at risk.
I agree, however, if there is a perceived fear of safety then both clubs need to address this. I know that when there was an issue with Hull, a group of their fans were outside, at the boulevard, to welcome visiting fans, which was a nice touch and perhaps something that could be considered by both teams?

| I KNOW OF SOME LONGSTANDING FAX FANS THAT ARE USUALLY HOME AND AWAY SUPPORTERS THAT ARE NOT GOING TO PO ROAD...
HOWEVER I CANT SEE HOW THIS AFFECTS ANYTHING. IT WAS A MINORITY SET OF DRUNK IDIOTS THAT CAUSED THE BOTHER IN WIRE.
EVERY CLUB ON ITS DAY HAS A GROUP OF FANS LIKE THIS, SOME MORE THAN OTHERS. AND ALTHOUGH WHEN ATTENDING GAMES AT FEV IN THE LAST 3-4 YEARS I HAVE SEEN SILLY BEHAIVOUR (ALL VOCAL)
IT WILL NOT STOP ME FROM ATTENDING...
I WILL BE GOING ...END

Ive never sat at Post Office road, always stood at the Fax end and swapped at half time. The abuse im refering to is usually as fans are swapping ends and we have always experienced it. Probably a minority but its there none the less.

Unfortunately it was more than a few and the consequences horrific. I will be there home and away but my kids won't be allowed anywhere near
Skircoat needs to be opened for Fev fans for this game. Any trouble in Sky and Super League hopes are finished
