I think the League Express editorial suggestion by Martyn Sadler was the best option, though never put on the table. I would think that though as I emailed it to him last summer, in my suggestion one team would be promoted every two years and promoted teams would know they had two years in the top flight. They would also go up one year after winning promotion so they could prepare and compete on level terms for players, not ideal but the one that gave promoted teams a chance to plan and a chance to thrive.

It's great to see them react in the way we did when licensing was introduced. It's embarrassing when a process you back so epically fails. Don't like to say I told you so....

really looking forward to this new system. Fax Fev or Leigh certainly not guaranteed entry to SL but at least now there is hope and should bring a lot more interest to Rugby league.



I just hope they stick at it even if the SL clubs claim it isn't working. Although im not a big fan of the 4th v 5th playoff game to settle the final SL spot in the middle 8 I think in time it could become huge and really popular with all fans just like the footy playoffs

With the ' lob sided ' number of games it is the only real fair way of deciding something as important as promotion , although yes the more chances the SL clubs have to beat the Championship ones the less chances there will be to displace one

Pfffft ! Who knows ? If it were down to me, I'd probably have a fixture plan of the AvB, CvD type ready and slot the teams in either by finishing position or lot.

Whilst we celebrate promotion being reinstated, in the cold light of day it's gonna be harder to get promoted than it was under licensing. The RFL have ensured that by giving us a lower salary cap than Super League.



We'll never be able to compete



No wonder the lower Super League teams voted for this - they'll just spend money on a better team than any championship one and not on sorting out their clubs as they no longer need to!

Where does it mention salary cap??? It only mentions funding.
