Good hit out and much needed as we only have this game for the main first team squad which I think is a bit risky we should have lined up 3 with 1 for the Reserves.

Widnes were as usual solid in defence and Brown was as good as ever, but we did well to get over their try line and scored a great second try.

To say they had a lot of first teamers in and we had a lot of young lads it was a good game.

Tel thi what mon I were chuffed wit we we played,Tek you mon Brown et o team an there nowt between us , a thought them scouser weren't that good,we will play loads better sarry,chuffin eck I can't wait further season ta start,Cmon yer Fax.

It is on youtube and the second try was fantastic.That last play shows how dwsperate both teams were to win it !! we need to work on the defence of cut out passes to Opposing wingers.

I didn't make this game but reading about it one thing stood out again....the need to get Ben Johnstone to half back. He is wasted at fullback, we are far more effective, attack wise, with him at seven. Sounds like a real good run out for the team though.

Is this a fair reflection of the Widnes game?

Just seen video, their 3rd try was a mile forward and our 2nd was a belter. As above the wide defence needs some work but we did lose Heaton very early on.

Worth a mention is the team spirit / bonding that these lads have, very noticeable in the warm up, pre kick off, half time and full time periods.



This will be a big plus when push comes to shove.

I thought Fax played well yesterday , but only after Kevin Brown left the field, can we make a mark on the League this season?Of course we can , we just need to give Fax the vocal support of the old days, I'd love to Fax put the big guns to the sword.
