Interesting letter sent into the league express this week regarding this very thread and what its about (fev announcing their champions and selling merchandise) apparently from a fax fan

Funny that cos a clairvoyant of our own as had a vision of Luke Branagan with the Championship trophy

congratulations to them by all means.. But everyone knows that the playoffs mean more, In super league / Championship.. But lets not get off topic..

I have been watching their website of late for details of the match between them and us and there has not been one single word about it......until today however.

There is a short announcement of the match date/ time then a very curt.

Seeing as how the RFL havn`t bothered announcing it on here after a full 10 days. Poor do if it was down to the RFL, if it had been Super League the web site would have been all singing all dancing no doubt.

But Fev arent champions. They finished the season as league leaders, and received a shield for that. If you dont win the Grand Final, you wont be Champions. Might come back and bite you on the ass, like Callands "country mile" comments.

I dont disagree with what the letter said in it or this thread, if the club make a few quid out of it good on them, personally i wouldve wrote 'league champions' on the merchandise but then it would probably cost more to make especially on mugs and keyrings where there would be little money in it (this is basically what is being sold)



Just wondering if it was the OP who sent the letter in more than anything, to a neutral it reads like a jealous rival supporter and of sour grapes (especially the RFL bit)

"Firstly congratulations to Featherstone Rovers for finishing top of the championship table at the end of the regular season.This is an achievment they should be proud of.

However,when browsing their website,i noticed they are calling themselves " Champions 2010 " and are even selling merchandise to this effect.

I thought to be champions you had to win the play offs.or have the goal posts been moved ? I belive that the Rugby League should intervene and ask Featherstone to remove their self proclaimed title and all associated merchandise until after the play off final.

They should only be allowed to call themselves Champions and sell associated merchandise when and IF they win the Grand Final."

if we do win the GF, perhaps Malcolm can buy the job lot from Fev at knockdown prices and flog em in our shop.
