After hearing some of their fans sing Lancashire today it seems like they don't know where they are from

Is it Cheshire, Merseyside or Lancashire???



Maybe Cheshire don't want them after all and they are being relegated back to the Red Rose county

its in blackpool 12th of july.



all messing aside it comes under cheshire on our address.

So why the Lancashire chants then???

i think it used to come under lancs not sure of the reasons why it changed.

like warrington, st helens, w***n and liegh widnes is historically in god's county of lancashire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're Lancashire. Always have been, always will be. The Cheshire thing is for administrative reasons only. Where you got Merseyside from I don't know, as we have never been part of that.

Doesnt the Rivery Mersey run near?

It runs through Manchester too. Do you think they are Merseysiders?



We have never been part of Merseyside. I have no problem with Scousers, just in case you're thinking that. Liverpool is a great city. We are not part of that, despite what you would like to think.

Didnt say I thought anyone was a merseysider, just wondered if it was the Mersey that was near.

One of my close friends is a Widnesian, not a rugby fan but an LFC fan. To everyone at work he is known as a scouser, sounds a colleague from Liverpool, and when asked he understands why people think Widnes is in Liverpool because when it was going on Liverpool City of Culture was plastered everywhere, everyone supports Liverpool or Everton and its Merseyside Police.



Even he doesn't know how to class himself, he says its a generation thing.

Oh dear.



Probably about twice as many Man U as Everton fans in Widnes.
