The Council don't legally need EFL approval to sell the Shay but will be under some pressure if they don't get it with the implications for FC Town.
Possible moves muted to allready have been taken are giving FC Town primacy of tenure for their home games and a minimum guaranteed period of tenancy?
What happens further down the road if the KD option gets over the line who knows but no one can blame the rugby club this time around.
The same question could be asked if the KD option wasn't available because CMBC, both clubs and the other option on the table had little to nothing as a alternative as once the Council decided to sell with the covenant restrictions in place on the estate no one else was interested.
